Continuous Improvement Engineer

This role is based in Templemars. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you’ll own the product improvement and performance process to ensure customer needs, regulatory requirements, and Kingfisher specifications are met. You will drive and measure ongoing improvement and support the development of all OEB products. You will project manage both the Product Incident and Product Improvement processes to ensure all projects are managed effectively, consistently, and within appropriate timescales. Responsibilities Define and deliver a clear schedule of product improvement initiatives, ensuring all projects have clear scopes, priorities, and actions, with measurable outcomes. Identify, analyze, and present external and internal data to uncover improvement opportunities, root causes, and actionable recommendations for product performance. Work with cross-functional teams to implement agreed solutions, such as product enhancements, delisting, or stock adjustments, ensuring alignment with business and customer needs. Track product performance improvements through dashboards, customer feedback, and sales data, while proactively addressing issues via an “early warning system” and watchlists. Regularly communicate progress, insights, and KPIs to Group Quality, Banners, and leadership teams, championing continuous improvement and the voice of the customer. Track, manage, and report all Own Exclusive Brand (OEB) product issues, incidents, claims, and WFS actions, ensuring investigations are completed in line with business metrics and processes. Act as the process lead for product safety incidents, coordinating with quality and sourcing teams, analyzing root causes, and ensuring clear ownership, reporting, and corrective actions for all cases. Qualifications Proficient in Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Power BI, with experience in data gathering, management, statistical analysis, and creating visualized reports to support decision-making. Skilled in managing multiple projects with strong governance, risk management, and change management capabilities, while effectively coordinating cross-functional teams. Strong knowledge in functional analysis. Knowledge of Fusion or Solidworks. Experience in stock evaluation, rate of sale analysis, and reviewing product trends, with knowledge of technical, quality, retail, or DIY sectors being advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to challenge root cause analyses and corrective actions, and a pragmatic approach to identifying trends and patterns. Excellent communication skills, effective influencing abilities, and a proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach to drive successful outcomes.
