Back End Engineer

Skipper NDT is a deeptech company that has developed a patented technology to support energy asset maintenance . Our mission is to leverage the latest innovations to enhance infrastructure management , reducing potential failures that could have significant human and environmental impacts . We work with most of the energy majors in Europe and North America. Morpho web platform is part of our software suite intended to structure interactions with Skipper NDT customers . In this context, we are looking for a backend software engineer profile with significant experience in the development of web platforms and a minimum of 3 years of experience . We are seeking a talented and passionate Backend Engineer to join our dynamic technical team. You will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our backend services, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and secure. Collaborating with our frontend developers, data engineers, and product team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture of our platform. Main Responsibilities: Develop high-performance and secure APIs using Django and Node.js . Collaborate with frontend development ( Next.js ) to ensure smooth integration. Scientific Algorithm Implementation: Improve signal processing algorithms . Contribute to minimization and optimization problem-solving . Containerization & Infrastructure: Configure and optimize Docker-based environments for development & production . Implement and manage routing rules with Traefik and Nginx . Performance & Scalability: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks . Design scalable architectures to handle increased loads. Security & Compliance: Implement best security practices to protect user data. Conduct regular security audits of backend systems. Participate in technical discussions and assess technology choices. Document processes, APIs, and architectures . Required Profile: Technical Skills: Proficiency in: Django – Python framework for fast and secure web development. NumPy/SciPy – Scientific algorithm implementation. Next.js – Understanding of frontend-backend integration. Docker – Expertise in containerization. Traefik/Nginx – Experience with reverse proxies. Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis (relational & non-relational). Git & CI/CD workflows – Version control and automated deployment. Security best practices & permission management. Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud services . Scientific background is required. GIS (Geographic Information Systems) experience is a plus.
